All stringed pianos need tuning every 6 to 12 months it don't matter wheather you play them or not they will still go out of tune. Piano strings keep stretching because of high tension on them the sound will keep getting lower and lower. A piano that has not been tuned in several years when retuning, it creates more danger of breaking strings and is much harder to tune. It may require more than one tuning to restore it back to a normal sound. Dont neglect your piano, have it tuned at least one time or more a year
